We've been really lucky to find a barn in our town, with both an indoor and trail system throughout the farm. Not only do we have a great facility, we have a great support system. The owner is also my trainer. She's taken both Mac and Callie to new levels. She continues to coach us on proper training and rehab regimes. A good portion of the details that I'll share on this site were learned from her. If you have questions about how to find the right trainer or barn for your needs, give me a shout!

When we first got Chewy several years ago a lot of what I knew about training I learned from a show barn - Fairfield South. I learned a lot about saddleseat, and even more about horses. Fast forward many years and we needed a barn close to home. We interviewed several but ended up with Greenwood Stables. It was an excellent decision. They care about the horses, are always willing to help and have a fantastic indoor and acres and acres of trails.
Krystyn runs the barn and was born and bred with horses around. She's been an invaluable asset to me and my journey. From figuring out ailments, administering treatment and restarting horses. She's taken Mac from a young, weak saddle seat horse to a healthy, happy and willing hunter style that's really best for his body and frame. She's taught me to drive, Chewy and is restarting Callie. Krystyn is knowledgable, patient and willing to try new techniques that work for our horses. She listens to them and makes decisions based on them and their wellbeing, not just what looks best or what others expect of them. Our horses couldn't be happy or healthier.
